My name is Steph.
I am a qualified and experienced secondary science teacher, who started teaching in 2011.
I have been offering tutoring in GCSE Science and GCSE Mathematics since 2018. In that time, I have helped countless students achieve their potential.
About me
- AS level in Chemistry in 2001 and A-Levels in Physics, Mathematics and History in 2002
- Graduated with a BSc (Hons) Pure and Applied Physics in 2005
- Completed teacher training (PGCE with QTS, Secondary Science with a specialism in Physics) in 2012
- I have a diverse pedagogical background, having worked in contrasting schools including Westcliff High School for Boys, Ortu Gable Hall School (now known as Mossbourne Fobbing Academy), and The Harwich and Dovercourt High School.
- I have experience in high-acheiving environments with a strong culture of academic excellence, and also experience supporting students with significant learning gaps.
About my Tutoring
I offer 1:1 tuition at competitive rates! Tuition sessions take place in evenings and weekends at the student’s house. Each session involves diagnosing where a student can improve and supporting the student through practice and instruction. I have a wealth of resources, which I acquired during my classroom teaching career.
Affordable 1:1 Tuition
A qualified and experienced teacher of science can charge as much as they like, and there will always be parents/guardians who will pay it. I feel all children should be able to access support to reach their potential. I am offering 1:1 tuition from just £40 per hour. If you are reading this, then you will probably already have found that the only tutors who charge less tend to be inexperienced and unqualified university students.
